As an experienced & qualified youth worker, I've been involved in digital youth work - in practice & academic studies - since 2008. Excited by the idea of methods such as participatory filmmaking & using online places to reduce social isolation of young people, I then spent 6 years doing postgraduate research in digital youth work studies at the University of Edinburgh.
My aim is to create an online community for youth workers & organisations using digital technologies in their practice. It will be a place to come together to keep up to date on digital issues facing young people, to offer shared learning & support with colleagues as well as finding bespoke development & training support.
I've lectured on, developed & delivered pedagogically-based digital youth work training virtually & in-person across Scotland, the UK, EU & Middle East since 2014. My training offer includes a full 3-day course 'Definition to Development' as well as full/half-day sessions & 1-hour taster sessions covering a wide range of focused topics. I also provide consultation support to organisations, including facilitating youth consultations.
